Abstract

PURPOSE: A polyester composition capable of giving molded articles having improved flame retardancy, comprising a specific phosphate and a polyester.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 100 parts by wt. of a linear thermoplastic aromatic polyester, e.g. polyethylene terephthalate, polybutylene terephthalate, etc. is incorporated with (B) 2W20 parts by wt. of a phosphate of formula (R1 is 2W10C straight or branched chain alkylene group; R2 is arylene group or bifunctional substituent wherein any one of alkylene, sulfone groups and ether linkage is combined with the arylene group).
EFFECT: Molded articles having improved flame retardancy and durability can be obtained.
