Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a bar feeding device which is so designed that a top roll is driven and brought, with a cyliner, near to and away from a fixed bottom roll whereby a bar (or rod) can be caught between these rolls and sent out horizontally.
CONSTITUTION: Rotation of a driving motor 1, which is provided as a material driving source separately from that for a cutting machine, is conducted to a top roll shaft 11 for turning the top roll continuously. A material 25 (a bar or a rod) is sent out (or fed out) by this top roll 9 and the fixed bottom roll 10. At that time, in order to provide friction of a certain degree between the material 25 and the top roll 9, the material is caught by a compressed air operated cylinder 17 between the top and bottom rolls. After the material 25 of a required length was sent out, compressed air in this cylinder 17 is discharged causing the top roll 9 to leave the bottom roll by means of a return spring 19 whereby the material catching force is released.
