Abstract

PURPOSE: After the primer layer of thermosetting resin is formed on the surface of steel pipes, outer layers of modified polyolefin resin and polyolefin resin are formed to produce steel pipes coated with synthetic resin with strong adhesion.
CONSTITUTION: The cleaned surfaces of steel pipes are coated with a thermosetting resin that rapidly cures at a relatively low temperature in a thickness of 10W60μ to form the primer layer. After the resulting surface is heated to a temperature of lower than the melting point of a modified polyolefin resin, a polyolefin modified with unsaturated carboxylic acid or its anhydride is extruded to coat the primer layer and fused. Simultaneously or subsequently, the resulting layer is coated with a polyolefin resin to form the outermost layer.
