CONSTITUTION:A block 10 of magnetic metal such as Sendust is formed with a non-magnetic material 11 having a thickness corresponding to the length of a magnetic gap, and a magnetic gap portion 12 is formed by the abutment of the block 10, followed by the smooth finish of respective sides. On the other hand, a ferrite block is formed with a groove 13 for receiving the block 10 and with a winding aperture groove 14 having a narrower width. Then, a tape running surface is ground into a preset shape, and a core of a preset thickness is cut, thus producing a number of chips for a complex head.
