Abstract
PURPOSE:To form a magnetic head which has superior wear resistance and provides high-density recording and high-sensitivity reproduction, by using a magnetic core body into which a metallic magnetic thin belt is so inserted at an operating gap part that the cross section of the belt is exposed. CONSTITUTION:Into a groove 25 made in a block 24 obtained by joining ferrite 22 with high magnetic permeability and a nonmagnetic material 23, a thin sendust belt 26 is inserted and stuck, and specular polishing is performed to form a gap constitution surface 27; after a groove 31 for forming a coil winding window and glass-charged grooves 32 and 32' for joining rear cores are formed, the block is cut along broken lines A-A', B-B' and C-C'. Over gap constitution surfaces of thus obtained small compound blocks 28 and 28', nonmagnetic layers for gap length adjustment are formed and the both are joined together with both the surfaces facing each other by using joining glass parts 34 and 34'. Then, this is cut along broken lines X-X' and Y-Y' to obtain magnetic cores 36.
