Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a herbicide containing a 2,3-dicyanopirazine derivative as an effective component.
CONSTITUTION: A herbicide containing a compound of formula (A is H, halogen, lower alkyl, aryl, aralkyl; B is H, halogen, alkyl, 5- to 7-membered heterocyclic ring, -Y-R1, -NH-CH(R2)-COOH; Y is O,S; R1 is lower alkyl, aryl, aralkyl; R2 is H, lower alkyl, phenyl: at least one of A and B are not H; A and B may together form tetramethylene, pentamethylene, -CH=C(R3)-CH=CH-; R3 is H, halogen, lower alkyl, -COOH, -NO2).
EFFECT: The herbicide is effective by applying to irrigation water of paddy rice field, to soil or to the leaves and stalks of weeds before or after the sprouting of weeds.
