Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:Compounds of formula (ring A may be substituted with lower alkyls, nitro or halogens).
EXAMPLE: Spiro[benzo[b]furane-2(3H),1'-cyclopropane]-3-one.
USE: Antiulcer agent, anti-inflammatory or analgesic.
PREPARATION: The decarboxylation of a compound of formula II is effected in an adequate solvent in the presence of a catalyst promoting the decarboxylation as metal halide or quarternary ammonium salt under an inert gas atmosphere at 100W 200, preferably 140W160°C to produce the objective compound of formula I. The compound of formula II is prepared through processes shown in reaction equations.
