Abstract

PURPOSE: To clear jamming simply while preventing breakage of end part of jam preventive piece, by setting rotatably the jam preventive piece of fixing device, and protecting the end part of the preventive piece with the discharge guide plate when clearing jamming.
CONSTITUTION: A toner image supporting body 3 which is heat-fixed by heat- fixing, pressure-contact rollers 1, 2 is defined in the amount of curl by a sharp end part of a jam preventive piece 5 rotatable around a shaft 6, and is discharged along a discharge guide plate 8. If the supporting body 3 entwines around the roll 1 due to jamming, by rotating the rotatable preventive piece 5, the end part of the preventive piece 5 is protected by the guide plate 8, and the supporting body 3 to be cleared of jamming does not abut against the end part of the preventive piece 5. Therefore, the jamming may be cleared easily, and the breakage of the sharp end part of the preventive piece 5 may be prevented.
