Abstract
PURPOSE: To make removal of slag of narrow groove welding easy by specifying the respective components amount of the SiO2-Al2O3-TiO2 base flux.
CONSTITUTION: The flux wherein SiO2; 20 to 25%, Al2O3; 20 to 40%, TiO2; 12 to 25%, CaF2; 4 to 16% based on weights are contained and further one or more kinds of MnO; 7% or under, CaO; 9% or under MgO; 15% or under, BaO; 25% or under are contained and their total is made 13 to 30%. The reasons for restricting the respective components are that SiO2 forms slag and controls basicity. Al2O3 controls melting point and viscosity and TiO2 stabilizes arc.
