Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible to set direction very precisely and also steer ship automatically by caliculating new course to an estimated course from present position of the ship with inputting latitude longitude of starting point and destination into automatic steering device, and smoothing turbulence of radio wave.
CONSTITUTION: Latitutde and longitude of present position of a ship are obtained by SENAR processor 2 with signal from loran receiver 1 receiving radio wave for navigation. By inputting the latitutde and longitude of starting point and destination into an automatic ship's course setting device 3 containing a computer constituting with arithmetic part 3a, input parts 3b and 3c for the starting point and the destination, the arithmetic part 3a calculates the relative position and decide new course to the scheduled courwe, further estimated point at heading arbitrary distance in the scheduled course from the calculated point, and heading direction to the destination from the present position of ship itself, and inputs them into an automatic steering device. By so doing, it enables to steer the ship antomatically.
