Abstract
PURPOSE: An undercoating curable resin composition which is useful as the undercoat paint for photosetting paint for building materials and which is obtained by mixing a curing agent and a pigment with a vinyl copolymer obtained from the reaction of a specific ethylenically unsaturated monomer and an ethylenically unsaturated acid.
CONSTITUTION: The 0.5W50wt% an ethylenically unsaturated monomer with hydroxyl group, epoxy group, or amide group, or methylol compound thereof (a), 0.2W5wt% an ethylenically unsaturated acid (b), e.g., acrylic acid, etc., and a balance of an ethylenically unsaturated copolymerizable compound, e.g., methyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, n-butyl acrylate, etc., or a glycidyl ester (c), e.g., glycidyl ester of versatic acid, etc., are mixed. Then, the mixture is reacted and the vinyl copolymer obtained is mixed with a curing agent (B) and the pigment (C) to obtain the subject resin composition.
