Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the light transmission factor of a solar battery from falling due to water, by using glass fibers which have a small number of ends.
CONSTITUTION: Even if the surface of conventional glass fibers are treated with chromium or silane, water invades into the glass fibers through their ends because of the capillary phenomenon, and deteriorates the surface treating agent and reduces the light transmission factor of glass-fiber-reinforced plastic FRP which the long-time use. A solar battery element 2 electrically wired with lead frames 1 is coated with a resin 3, which is then treated for stabilization. Two continuous mats 4 are set as the present glass fibers having the small number of ends under and over the solar battery element 2. A resin 5 is then injected among the mats and the solar battery element and coated with a film 6. The deterioration of plastic reinforced by the present glass fibers is little. A high output is maintained. A glass cloth or a robing cloth may be used as the mat 4.
