Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the grinding resistance and the clogging of a grinding stone by uniformly mixing hard and abrasive inorganic particles and a less adhesive inorganic particles in an organic polymer material to improve the high temperature wear resistance of a grinding stone.
CONSTITUTION: A grinding tool is formed by fixing a grinding stone 2 to a hub 1. The grinding stone 2 comprises a binder 10 of a polymer material which satisfies the requirements of the reginous grinding stone, hard and abrasive particles 11 of diamond or boron nitride, and one or several kinds of easily separable inorganic particles 12 which are less adherent to the binder 10 than the abrasive particles 11. In the grinding operation, the separable particles 12 fall off from the working surface of the grinding stone and form chipped parts 12a causing the binder to fall off so that new abrasive particles 11 are exposed on the working surface of the grinding stone, thus always maintaining stabilized grinding.
