Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the vacuum contacting properties of a photosensitive printing plate by preheating both sides of the plate with specified means before or after spreading a specified amt. of heat fusion bondable fine powder of a specified particle side on the plate and by fusion bonding the powder with a heating roll having a releasable surface. CONSTITUTION:When 0.005-0.5g/m<2> of heat fusion bondable fine powder of 0.5-40mum in fixed direction diameter is uniformly spread on surface 2B of photosensitive printing plate 1 such as PS plate with powder feeder 3, surface 2B and back side 2A are preheated with far infrared heaters 7 and preheating roll 4A, respectively. Plate 1 is then passed between heating roll 4B having a releasable surface of Teflon or the like and press roll 5 to fusion bond the powder to surface 2B at contact portion A, and it is carried with roll 6. The heating temp. is controlled with temp. detector 8. Thus, the work of contacting an image film to plate 1 is facilitated, the apparatus is simplified, and superior printing performance is provided to the plate without exerting unfavorable influence.
