Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide specific optical parameters to optical glass and to enhance its resistance to devitrification and chemicals, by using specific composition including B2O3, ZnO, ZrO2, TiO2, and one or more of SrO and BaO.
CONSTITUTION: This optical glass contains, in wt%, B2O3: 20W35%, La2O3: 30W 50%, ZnO: 1W14%, ZrO2: 2W8%, TiO2: 2W11%, either one or both of SrO and BaO: 1 to less than 5%, and further includes SiO2: 0 to less than 5%, Li2O: 0W 0.5%, Na2O: 0W0.5%, K2O: 0W0.5%, MgO: 0W10%, CaO: 0W5%, Nb2O3: 0W 7%, Al2O3: 0W3%, As2O3; 0W0.1%, Sb2O3: 0W0.1%, and fluoride replacing part or total of oxides of one or more of the above metal elements in total amount of 0W1% based on F2. This glass has optical parameters: refractive index (Nd)= 1.77W1.86 and Abbe's number (νd)=45W36.
