Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve sealing performance of a sealing member used in an exhaust brake valve, by fixing sealing members made of a combination of soft and hard sealing materials to a piston rod for driving the exhaust brake valve, and thus protecting the sealing members from being caught and damaged.
CONSTITUTION: Body 1 constituting a portion of exhaust passage 2 is formed with a housing 1b having therein a slide valve 30. By the side of this housing 1b, there is disposed an actuator 6 having therein piston 10 and piston rod 11. The piston rod 11 is connected to valve 30, and a cylindrical member 18 having sealing members 19 is fixed to the rod 11. Each of these sealing members 19 is made of a combination of a soft sealing material 19b disposed at the central position and hard sealing materials 19a, 19a disposed on the opposite sides of the central soft sealing material 19b.
