Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to extract the stroke end point with a short processing step and a small hardware, by determining coordinates of the stroke end point on a basis of the position of black and white change points in case that the distance of black and white change points between adjacent scanning lines exceeds a prescribed value.
CONSTITUTION: Rise detection circuit 2 detects rise of a picture signal from white to black and sends the position to register 4. The rise position of register 4 and the scanning line position of scan counter 1 are stored in register 6-2. Fall detection circuit 3 detects fall of the picture signal from black to white and stores the position in register 7-2. Contents of registers 6-2 and 7-2 are transferred to registers 6-1 and 7-1 at fall of gate 1 from black to white. Operation circuit 8 obtains the difference of the rise position between registers 6-1 and 6-2; and when this difference is larger than a prescribed value, coordinates of the end point and the start point are determined by contents of registers 6-1 and 6-2, and contents of continuous counter 10 are read out. Operations of operation circuit 9 and continuous counter 11 are similarly performed.
