Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the amount of cation resin mixing into passing water system by a method wherein anion-exchange resin is newly added in back-washing of mixed ion-exchange resin and cation-exchange resin mixing into the upper layer of the anion resin is taken out together with added anion resin.
CONSTITUTION: Cation-anion mixed exchange resin which has been used is transferred to the separation tower 1 and separated by back-wash water 2. This results in layers consisting of anion-exchange resin 4 contg. fine particulates of cation-exchange resin K; mixed-ion-exchange resin 5; and part of cation-exchange resin 3. The layer is transferred to the anion-exchange resin regeneration tower 6. To the tower 6, anion resin 4' in amount of 15W60vol% of anion resin 4 is added, back- wash is conducted for separation, and anion resin equivalent to the added amount from the top is taken out of the pipe 7, together with floated cation resin K. The process nearly completely separates fine cation-exchange resin mixing into the upper layer of anion-exchange resin.
