Abstract

CONSTITUTION: This is constituted by a mixed bed type ion exchange resin tower 1, resin stagnation tower 2, anion exchange resin layer 3, cation exchange resin layer 4 and mixed resin layer of anion exchange resins and cation exchange resins. Next, when the ion exchange ability of the ion exchange resins used in the mixed bed has lowered, the mixed resins are floated and developed while the water introduced through a backwashing water inlet valve 8 is being discharged through a backwashing water outlet valve 9. On account of differences in specific gravity, the anion exchange resins separate and stay still in the upper part and the cation exchange resins in the lower part. Next, both resins are respectively simultaneously regenerated in the same tower, after which the layer 5 near the boundary face X is extracted to outside the tower.
