Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance strength and electrostatic capacity of alloy foil through preventing crack generation on slab in foil forming process by using material in which a specific amount of Cu and Ti is contained in Al, and Si and Fe contents in impurity is controlled.
CONSTITUTION: To Al of 99.7wt% or more purity, Cu: 0.03W0.5% and Ti: 0.002W0.05%, and controlled contents of 0.3% or less in total of Si and Fe as impurity is added, and the material is used to make foil. This material composition prevents crack generation in casting slab and provides Al alloy foil for electrolytic capacitor cathode having enhanced capacity and mechanical strength. Particularly, Cu in the composition is potentially nobler than Al and provides wide range of solution in Al, forming uniform and high density, concavity in etching process of foil surface.
