Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide title alloy having 100kg/cm2 or more tensile strength at room temperature and an average thermal expansion coefficient of 10×10-6/°C or less at 200W300°C, by using composition contg. a specific proportion of C, Co, Ni, and one or more of Si, Mn, Cr, and the balance of Fe.
CONSTITUTION: High-strength, low-thermal expansion alloy consists of C: 0.50% or less, Co: 0.1W8.0%, Ni: defined by Ni+CO: 37.0W48.0%, one or more of Si, Mn, and Cr: 1.0W5.0%, and the balance of Fe. By specifying the contents of Co and Ni+Co in the above composition, an average thermal expansion coefficient can be controlled to the above value or less without resort to a process for strengthening. Si, Mn, and Cr are effective in not only strengthening the base material by solid solution, but also reducing stacking fault energy. Accordingly, a cold process can be used to increase the material strength.
