Abstract

PURPOSE: To move a magnetic head to a fixed height by generating a detection signal, regarding the height of the magnetic head from a reference surface, by a detecting method and by controlling a movable element by a control signal based upon the detection signal.
CONSTITUTION: This figure shows an example of a rotary drum unit of VTR. On the reverse surface of upper rotary drum 12, bimorph plate 14 is fitted. The other terminal of plate 14 is free and to this free terminal surface, magnetic head 15 is fitted. At the other terminal side part where the head is fitted to plate 14 under drum 12, concave part 16 is formed and the other terminal side of plate 14 is made free. This reference surface uses chassis 17 and a couple of detecting methods employ head 15 and magnetic head 18 fixed to chassis 17. Magnetic head 18 is mounted on table 19 fitted on chassis 17.
