Abstract

PURPOSE: Title resin that is made by molding and curing an unsaturated polyester containing an amino group-bearing compound, thus being suitably used for buttons and others because of its high dyeability with acidic dyes.
CONSTITUTION: The objective resin is obtained by mixing (A) a compound containing amino groups such as bisaminopropyltetraoxaundecane adduct, (B) an unsaturated polyester resin, (C) a compound bearing epoxy groups such as epichlorohydrin, (D) polymerizable monomers liquid at room temperature such as 2-hydroxypropyl methacrylate, (E) a catalyst consisting of (a) an organic peroxide such as methyl ethyl ketone peroxide, and (b) an ultraviolet curing catalyst such as bonzoin methyl ether, and (F) an accelerator such as cobalt naphthenate. The resulting resin is, e.g., cured into button blank, which is cut, lathed and ground into buttons which can be dyed fast colors.
