NEW MATERIAL:7α-Methoxy-7β-[( 5-carbamoylmethylamino )adipoylamino]-3- carbamoyl-oxymethyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid (salt) of formula.
USE: Antibacterial agent effective to Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, especially to Escherichia coil. An intermediate of cephalosporin antibiotics.
PROCESS: Streptomyces clavurigerus PA32413 (FERM-P No.4925) is cultured in a nutrient medium containing carbon sources, nitrogen sources, inorganic salts, etc. under aerobic conditions, pref. at 25W32°C. The objective antibiotic substance, PA-32413-I, can be separated from the cultured medium by filtration, centrifugation, etc.
