Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the secondary-flow loss and leakage loss at the top of moving blades of turbine, by forming inlet ports in the inner surface of shroud ring fixed to the top of moving blades and outlet ports in the outer surface of shroud ring.
CONSTITUTION: A turbine stage is constituted by stator blades 26, rotor blades 27, shroud ring 28, upper diaphragm 29, radial fins 31W34, etc. In addition to the above, inlet ports 46 are formed in the inner surface of shroud ring 28 and outlet ports 47 are formed in the outer surface of shroud ring 28. With such an arrangement, flow 37 branched from main flow 35 into inlet port 46 is passed through communicating passage 44 and issued into space 48 from outlet port 47, so that downstream flow 38 becomes smooth with no turbulences. At the same time, leakage flow 36 branched from main flow 35 is sealed in space 48 by the effect of fluid blown out from outlet port 47, so that the amount of leakage flow passing through radial fin 34 disposed on the downstream side can be reduced.
