Abstract
PURPOSE: To smoothly change the radial flow of a working fluid into a uniform an axial-flow and avoid the vibration of turbine blades, by providing an almost pyramid-shaped member on the inner ring of the nozzle diaphragm of an axial- flow turbine.
CONSTITUTION: A working fluid enters into the inlet chamber 2 of a container 9 from a fluid inlet pipe 8 and proceeds toward an almost pyramid-shaped guide means 6 integrated with the inner race of a nozzle diaphragm so that the fluid is caused to flow inwards in the directions 10a, 10b of streamlines by the guide means. At that time, equal flow rates of the working fluid are conducted into the directions 10a, 10b of streamlines and the fluid is smoothly introduced into a stage in a plural-axial-flow turbine. According to this constitution, a uniform axial flow is obtained along the total circumference, the efficiency of the turbine is heightened and the fatigue fracture of moving vanes 4 is avoided.
