Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the size of a gas drier and enhance the yield of O3, in recycling exhaust O2 from treatment of org. matter with O3, e.g., pulp bleaching, by removing moisture and volatile org. matter in the exhaust O2 and partially removing CO2 correspondingly to the concn. of N2 contained.
CONSTITUTION: O3-contg. O2 from ozonizer 1 is introduced into reaction vessel 2 filled with org. matter such as pulp slurry, and O3 is consumed. Exhaust O2 from vessel 2 is pressurized with circulation blower 3, freed of moisture, etc. with cooler 4, and further freed of residual moisture, etc. with condenser 5 being cooled with low temp. brine. This exhaust O2 is then fed into gas drier 6 composed of adsorption towers 601, 602 packed with zeolite or the like to remove impurity gas such as H2. At this time, CO2 contained in the exhaust O2 is partially removed so as to adjust the concn. to a value determined by equation CO2%=(0.4±0.3)×N2.
