Abstract

PURPOSE: A clathrate compd. of pyrrolenitrin with cyclodextrin is added, thus producing a nonmedical antimicrobial preparation showing outstanding effect on preventing diseases of lawn.
CONSTITUTION: Said antimicrobial for nonmedical application contains a clathrate compd. of pyrrolenitrin with cyclodextrin. The antimicrobial preparation keeps the antimicrobial activity of known pyrrolenitrin and further shows an increased effectiveness. Moreover, the antimicrobial activity is not reduced by exposure to sunlight and others and the preparation can be sutiably applied to prevent diseases of lawn in golf courses. After storage for a long period of time, the preparation sustains the initial antimicrobial activity and is effectively used to prevent diseases of various kinds of crops such as rice plant. The clathrate compd. of pyrrolenitrin with cyclodextrin is obtained by mixing pyrrolenitrin with cyclodextrin in the presence of water.
