Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit fine separation of materials, as well reuse of the used absorbing plate, by using a ceramic absorbing plate having narrow pore size distribution width, obtained by molding alpha-alumina having an absorbaility, to attain a uniform thickness and then baking.
CONSTITUTION: Alpha-alumina of a grain size of approx. 0.5W80 microns is mixed with a binder, e.g., an acrylic resin, etc., together with a solvent, e.g., toluene, methanol, etc., the mixture is then molded to attain 9 uniform thickness by a doctor blade method, and molding is then cut into a given size and baked in an oxidative atomosphere to obtain a ceramic absorbing plate having a narrow pore size distribution. The absorbing plate, having a pore size of 10-1 to 10 microns, smaller than that of emulsion particles and colloid particles, good water absorbability, good water permeability, and a hard and smooth surface, permite fine separation of materials and also can be repeatedly used.
