Abstract

PURPOSE: To stably control combustion amount of liquid fuel in wide range by providing a burner for spraying liquid fuel into an inner cylinder and supplying primary air as swirling air stream along substantially tangential direction of the inner cyinder of a longitudinal combustor made of a pair of inner and outer combustion cylinders.
CONSTITUTION: A longitudinal combustor 1 and a burner unit 2 are detachably connected via a coupler 3 to form a combustion device. The combustor 1 concentrically contains the inner cylinder 5 in the outer cylinder 4, and a secondary air passage 6 formed therebetween. On the other hand, the burner unit 2 has a fan 13 internally inserted into a casing 11 having a blowing cylinder 12 and is so arranged that primary air is blown in substantially tangential direction with respect to the inner cylinder 5. A fuel supply tube 15 is arranged in the casing 11, a spark plug 16 is arranged in the vicinity of the tube 15. Further, a nozzle 17 is mounted at the end of the tube 15, and primary air is swirled in the vicinity of the nozzle 17, and a stabilizer 19 for holding the flame is mounted thereat.
