Abstract
PURPOSE:To decompose ozone without using a special apparatus, by introducing air containing ozone generated by corona discharge into a halogen lamp. section to decompose ozone by heat of the lamp. CONSTITUTION:Corona charger 2 for charging photoreceptor 1a, corona charger 3 for transferring an electrostatic latent image, and corona charger 4 for destaticizing photoreceptor 1a are arranged near photosensitive drum 1. Openings 2b, 3b, 4b are formed through shield plates 2a, 3a, 4a of corona chargers 2, 3, 4, respectively, and exhaust gas pipe 9 connected with plates 2a, 3a, 4a is installed. Opening 8a of reflector 8 surrounding halogen lamp 7 is connected with pipe 9, and pipe 9 is provided with filter 10 for preventing accompaniment of toner, thus permitting ozone to be efficiently decomposed by halogen lamp 7 without requiring a new heat source or a catalyst.
