Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the necessity of various devices for reduced voltage starting required at the time of acceleration, capacity control and start-up time and to simplify the structure, by controlling frequency and voltage of AC voltage put out from an inverter by signal from a control circuit with an AC motor's speed data as an input.
CONSTITUTION: When 50Hz or 60Hz commercial 3-phase AC from a 3-phase AC power source input terminal 1 is put into an inverter 2, it is rectified and smoothed by a rectifying & smoothing circuit 3, and then, it is converted to a prescribed frequency and voltage by a DC-AC converting circuit 4, and this output is utilized for turning an AC motor 5 which drives the screw compressor 7. And, on the other hand, by controlling frequency and voltage of AC voltage put out from the inverter 2 by the signal from a control circuit 10 with the AC motor 5's speed data or the screw compressor 7's load data as an input, it becomes possible to eliminate the necessity of all the devices for reduced voltage starting conventionally required at the time of acceleration, capacity control and start-up time.
