Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress foaming by letting the specific amino silicone exist at the time of letting the acidic gas accompanying petroleum refining contact an aqueous amine solution and absorbing away H2S. CONSTITUTION:The acidic gas exhausted in various refining processes of pertoleums is sent into a contact absorption tower where it is continuously contacted with the aqueous amine solution containing about 10-30% of diethanolamine or diisopropanolamine, whereby H2S is absorbed away. If at this time the amino silicone obtained by substituting part of the R1-R8 of the silicone shown by formula with the amine groups shown by general formula -NR9R10(R9, R10 are H or residual hydrocarbon groups of C1-10) is added as an antifoaming agent at about 3-200ppm into the aqueous amine solution, foaming is considerably suppressed and cleaning efficiency accelerated. Further, if the aqueous amine solution is treated with active carbon before or after the addition of the antifoaming agent, the antifoaming efficiency becomes much higher.
