Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily regulate the amt. of molten metal to be adhered to a steel strip by running a gas jet of protective gas or the like against the surface of a coating roll while regulating the press. of the gas supplied before the molten metal contacts to the strip. CONSTITUTION:Molten metal adhered to the surface of coating roll 12 in excess is wiped with a N2 gas jet spouted from gas wiping nozzle 13 to regulated the metal thickness. Steel strip 3 is passed through airtight seal 6 and introduced above hot dipping vessel 1. Next strip 3 falls through snout 4, passes by deflector roll 14, and is wound round roll 12, whereby it contacts to the molten metal adhered to the surface of roll 12 and is one-side hot dipped. Strip 3 is then pulled up with deflector roll 15 and taken out through hood 16 to cool and solifity the molten metal in the air.
