Abstract
PURPOSE:To prolong a service life of catalyst by removing a great deal of its activity reduction, Pt group metallic catalyst with carrier is treated by an aqueous solution containing at least one of group selected from hydrazine hydrate, formaldehyde, etc. CONSTITUTION:To regenerate a Pt group metallic catalyst with carrier for use in hydrocarbon steam deformation or hydrogenation decomposition, the catalyst is dipped in or stirred with an aqueous solution (with concentration of greater than 0.01 wt% and less than 10 wt% as it is wastful) containing at least one of hydrazine hydrate, formaldehyde, sodium borohydride, lithium aluminum hydride, sodium tartrate, grape sugar, and sodium formate. The process effectively removes sulfur oxides from the catalyst and recovers its dispersibility, drastically eliminating catalytis activity reduction, the cause of which is heretofore unknown. Further, reapeated regeneration enhances its acitivity to effect its longer service life.
