Abstract
PURPOSE:For Pt group catalyst with carrier to be provided with an enhanced activity and prolonged service life, it is regenerated by treatment with an aqueous solution of inorganic alkali material or hydrazine hydrate, H, O2, or steam in a specified manner. CONSTITUTION:To regenerate Pt group metallic catalyst with carrier for use in hydrocarbon partical oxidation, the catalyst is treated with the following processes: (a) an aqueous inorganic solution (in concentration of 0.001 to 10 N) of alkali or alkali earth metals at a temperature over 50 deg.C, (b) an aqueous hydrazine hydrate or formaldehyde solution in concentration of 0.01 to 10 wt% at over 50 deg.C, and (c) at least one of H, O2, and steam (except a mixture of H and O2) under one to 50 atoms and at 350 to 750 deg.C. Starting with any one of (a), (b), and (c) causes no difference in effect, allowing the use of proper sequence of these peocesses. The process permits repeated regeneration, greatly increasing the service life of this catalyst.
