Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture sugarless chewing gum which can be drawn and rolled without cracking, and keeps its excellent texture and taste for a long time, by adding a gum-base of chewing gum with a mixture of pullulan and water, and kneading the composition.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture containing pullulan having an average molecular weight of ≤350,000, pref. 70,000W130,000, and water, is added to a gum-base of chewing gum. The pullylan acts as a binder. The amounts of the pullylan and water are, 0.5W10 wt%, pref. 1W8 wt%, and 1.5W8 wt%, pref. 2W6 wt%, based on the whole composition, respectibely.
