Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain an insecticidal fumigant which needs no external ignition source and electric supply, by mixing a pyrethroid insecticide with a heat-generating material which reacts exothermically with 02.
CONSTITUTION: A pyrethroid insecticide (e.g. pynamine) is mixed with a heat- generating material which reacts exothermically with 02,preferably a mixture of (a) an alkali metal sulfide (e.g. sodium sulfide) and (b) silica, alumina, silica alumina or silica magnesia. It is more preferable to add an oxidation accelerator (e.g. Co oxide) to the mixture.
