Abstract

PURPOSE: To accomplish effective denitration reaction of the exhaust gas by blowing ammonia to the secondary air feed section at the top of the combustion chamber together with the secondary air.
CONSTITUTION: Municipal wastes A fed into the incinerator from a hopper 2 is dried and burnt with the secondary air from a blower 8 while they are moving on grates 4 and 5. The exhaust gas C generated is fed at the top of the combustion chamber 9 with the secondary air for completely burning gas left unburned and ammonia through a nozzle 11 from an ammonia feeder 15. As the temperature of the exhaust gas C at the secondary air feed section normally ranges from 750 to 1,000°C, efficient catalyst-free denitration can be done to reduce NOx to a harmless nitrogen gas in absence of catalyst.
