Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect stably the speed of a rotary material which is changed by a wide-range fluctuating frequency, by utilizing output signals of a sine wave-shaped fundamental wave having an amplitude proportional to the rotation speed of the rotary material.
CONSTITUTION: Two speed generators 11 output the sine wave having an amplitude proportional to the rotation speed and are so arranged that they may be different from each other in phase by 90°. Speed generators 11 are connected to output adjustment circuits 12 individually, and amplitudes of two paths are made equal to each other by adjustment. Outputs of output adjustment circuits 12 are squared, added, amplified and multiplied by 1/2 in respective circuits. Output V16 of 1/2 multiplier circuit 16 is a value shown in expression I. That is, this output V16 is DC signals proportional to the rotation speed. Thus, since the output independent of the frequency of speed generators is obtained, the speed of a rotary material which is changed by a wide-range fluctuating frequency can be detected stably.
