Abstract

PURPOSE: To cause ink to surely adhere to types without deforming an ink-containing pad and surely print a smooth-surface label, by separating the types and the ink-containing pad from each other in stoppage and tightly coating the ink of the pad on the types in printing.
CONSTITUTION: When a paper roll 1 is unwound, the front end of one label 1' is exfoliated. A motor M1 is stopped by a reflection-type light detector consisting of a lower light source 14 and a photoconductive element 15. Another motor M2 in a printing section 5 is driven to move a type holder 8 secured on a type board 9 to coat the ink of the ink-containing pad 6 on the types 7. The type holder 8 is then turned back by an angle of 90°. Finally, the surface of a label 1' is printed by the types 7 set on the type holder 8. When one label 1' is removed, this is detected by the reflection-type light detector to transfer the unwound paper 1.
