CONSTITUTION:A surface of a steel plate is directly electroplated with Mn, or the surface of the steel plate is each plated separately with Zn, a Zn alloy, Ni, Cu, Sn, a Pb-Sn alloy, etc. and electroplated with Mn. These foundation plating improves the corrosion resistance of a Mn plated layer. A Zn plated layer in 1-10g/m<2> is formed on the Mn plated layer by means of electroplating or non-electrolytic plating. The surface treated in this manner has excellent adaptability when phosphate treatment and electrolytic chromate treatment after that.
