Abstract

PURPOSE:To anneal a steel band in an energy conservative shape without raising annealing temperature to value more than the band needs, by controlling the band in an excellent response shape by directly detecting the temperature of the steel band by means of a temperature detector with high reliability in a continuous annealing furnace of the steel band. CONSTITUTION:A steel band 3 is heating annealed by means of radiant tubes 2 in a plurality of heating zones. Information a-l regarding all annealing is input to a computer 11 at that time, and furnace temperature regulator set point signals m for appropriately annealing the band and fuel flow-rate additional signals n are input to the furnace temperature reguators 13 and computing elements 14 of each heating noze as output. While, the temperature of the furnace is observed by means of furnace temperature detectors 4 mounted to each heating zone, and compared with the set points of said m, n. The fuel flow-rate rugulators 15 of each zone are controlled by the comparison value to regulate fuel gas supplied into the radiant tubes 2. The furnace is automatically maintained at proper temperature necessary for annealing, and fuel can rationally be economized without raising the furnace to high temperature more than it needs.
