Abstract
PURPOSE: A plurality of air injection ports which are opened near upper-stream side over a conical part of the intake valve are connected to a surge tank via each of the air intake pipes, this surge tank is connected to a source of air supply and thereby the mixture is homogized.
CONSTITUTION: Since each of the air intake pipes 17 is communicated with the intake passage 12 upstream of the throttle valve 13 via orifice 21, surge tank 18 and conduit 19, a volume of air fed via the intake conduit 17 is always kept at a constant value. Therefore, the mixture in each of the combustion chambers 4 is processed such that the air and the fuel may be uniformly mixed and at the same time kept at a constant mixture ratio, so that a combustion of the mixture after the ignition is stabilized, a thermal efficiency is improved and the fuel consumption is also improved.
