Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent fluctuation of air-fuel ratio due to intake negative pressure and also to improve performance of distribution of fuel to cylinders, by providing each intake port of a multi-cylinder engine with a fuel injection valve and forming a fuel-air joining chamber immediately behind this valve.
CONSTITUTION: Fuel injection valves 25 are provided on intake ports 22 connected to cylinders numbered 1 through 4. Solenoid valves 10, which are controlled by a control circuit 17, are connected to these injection valves 25 for adjustment of fuel supply. Air galleries 13 are formed to be connected to the upstream side of a throttle valve 12 of the intake pipe, and at the same time, these galleries 13 are connected to the injection valves 25 through air passages 11. Air-fuel joining sections 20 are formed immediately behind the jetting valves 25, and further, ends of the joining sections are provided with nozzles 19. Because of this mechanism, air-fuel mixture once mixed in the joining sections is injected from the nozzles 19.
