Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a flexible or semi-rigid open-cell polyurethane foam sealing material which can be easily manufactured without impregnating the foam with a water-proofing material such as asphalt, and prevent the leakage of water even under relatively small compression rate.
CONSTITUTION: A sealing material having an air permeability of ≤10cc/cm2/sec (11mm thick), a compression strength of 30W300g/cm2 (50% compression) and tensile strength at 15% elongation of ≥0.04kg/cm2, composed of a urethane foam obtained by reacting (A) a polyol composed mainly of a polydiene polyol pref. having a number average molecular weight of 1000W3000 and an average number of functional group of 2.0W3.5 with (B) a polyisocyanate in the presence of (C) ≤4.5 parts by weight of water based on 100 parts of (A).
