Abstract
PURPOSE: A polyurethane resin, prepared by reacting diisocyanate isocyanatomethyloctane with an acrylic polyol under specified conditions, suitable for a coating material, and having improved weather resistance, crack resistance, gloss, etc.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 1,8-Diisocyanate-4-isocyanatomethyloctane is reacted with (B) an acrylic polyol, preferably having a number-average molecular weight of 1,000W6,000, at a molar ratio between the NCO and OH of 0.5W2.0 to give the aimed resin. The aimed resin having a carbamide group concentration of 5× 10-4W50×10-4 moles based on one g resin and a crosslinking parameter of 150W1,500 is used as a principal component to prepare a composition for a polyurethane resin coating material.
