Abstract

PURPOSE: To let transverse agitating of developer be accomplished effectively through utilization of the free fall of the developer by providing a scraper plate whose trailing end is formed to comb-shape and a partition plate which is formed with the comb-shape intermeshing with the comb-shape of this scraper plate in the upper part.
CONSTITUTION: The developer which has been contributed to development is scraped off from a sleeve 14 by a scraper plate 11 and falls from the trailing end edges 11d and 11e of the comb-shape formed to the trailing end of the scraper plate 11. The developer falling from the trailing end edge 11d is divided to the right and left by the first dividing plate 22 and is stored in a developer pool part 26. The developer falling from the other trailing edge 11e is divided to the right and left by the second dividing plate 23 and is stored in the developer pool part. The developers having been stored in the two developer pool parts 26, 27 are joined in a developer influent space 24 and are scooped up again by a scooping up roller 10. In this way, transverse agitating of the developer is efficiently accomplished.
