Abstract

CONSTITUTION:Between the cathode of gate turn-off switch GTO-Q4 and the earth, resistance R5 is connected and between connection point C of this cathode and resistance and horizontal driver circuit Q1, transistors Q2 and Q3 are provided. In normal operation, those transistors Q2 and Q3 are OFF and once an over-current of more than a fixed value flows to Q4, a voltage across resistance R5 turns Q2 and Q3 both ON, thereby controlling the ON-OFF time of Q4 by circuit Q1.
