Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:Flavone derivative of formula I (one of X1 and X2 is 3-methyl- 2-butenyloxy, and the other is H; a bond of formula II is single or double one).
EXAMPLE: 4',7-Bis(3-methyl-2-butenyloxy)flavonol.
USE: Medicine having low toxicity and effective to peptic ulcer.
PROCESS: 2'-Hydroxy-4,4'-bis(3-methyl-2-butenyloxy)chalcone or 2'-hydroxy-2,4'- bis(3-methyl-2-butenyloxy)chalcone is used as a starting material. The desired compound of formula, flavanol derivative, is obtained by adding about 1 mole of a caustic alkali, e.g. KOH, NaOH, etc., and 5 moles of 30% hydrogen peroxide to 1 mole of the starting material, and reacting at room temperature for 4W5hr. In addition, the desired compound of formula is obtained as a flavanonol derivative when the amount of said caustic alkali is 0.5mole.
